The Sport Go Impact | N4G

Mike and Alex return to the idea of “the Sport Go Impact”. Video games, the argument goes, designed for consumption on a subscription service alongside dozens of others a month will must be conformed to this mode of consumption. They are going to lack the grandiose worldbuilding, demanding mechanics and novel-style writing of the most effective the medium has to supply. They are going to, as an alternative, be shallow, light-hearted, toy-like experiences designed for piecemeal engagement, possible with loot-based development. This (evidently) detracts from the standard of a sport.
